How to take your own measurements

Measurement Key

1. NECK- Around the gobbler; comfortably against the body and not too tight!

2. CHEST- Around the centre of the chest; if applicable, undergarments should resemble skating attire.

3. WAIST- Around the natural waist; comfortably against the body and not too tight!

4. HIPS- Around the hips and bum at the hip bone with feet together standing like a soldier.

5. TORSO- Around the body on a diagonal from the shoulder, against the belly, under the crotch, against the bum and against the back returning up to the shoulder.

6. BACK- From the base of the neck (bone) against the back down to the top of the bum

7. ARM- From the top of the shoulder (bone) down the length of the arm and 1” past the wrist bone.

8. SHOULDER- From the top of the shoulder (bone) around to the centre of the armpit.

9. BICEP- Around the centre of the upper arm with arms relaxing at one’s sides.

10. ELBOW- Around the centre of the elbow joint with arms relaxing at one’s sides.

11. WRIST- Around the wrist on the hand-side of the wrist joint.

12. SHOULDERS FRONT- From the front of one shoulder (bone) across the sternum (collarbone) to the front of the other shoulder (bone)

13. SHOULDERS BACK- From the back of one shoulder (bone) across the trapezius (upper back) to the back of the other shoulder (bone).

14. ARMPIT TO WAIST- From the base of the armpit (seam) to the natural waist, measured down the SIDE of the body.

15. SHOULDER TO WAIST- From the top of the shoulder to the natural waist, measured down the FRONT of the body.

16. ARMPIT TO HIPS- From the base of the armpit (seam) to the crest (top) of the hip bone, measured down the SIDE of the body.

17. SHOULDER TO HIPS- From the top of the shoulder to the crest (top) of the hip bone, measured down the FRONT of the body

18. THIGH- Around the middle of the thigh; comfortably against the body and not too tight!

19. ANKLE- Around the ankle; above the ankle bone of the joint.

20. INSEAM- From the base of the crotch down the inside length of the leg to the floor (no shoes) with feet together and standing like a solider.

21. OUTSEAM- From the crest (top) of the hip bone down the outside length of the leg to the floor (no shoes) with feet together and standing like a soldier.

22. SKIRT (Applicable to ice dancers or synchronized skaters)- From the crest (top) of the hip bone down the outside length of the leg to the knee.
